About this trip

Sumba is a land of savanna hills, rocky beaches, and megalithic villages that still keep the Marapu tradition alive. The winding overland journey offers landscapes unlike any other island in NTT. You will enjoy Walakiri Savanna at dusk with its wild horses, then swim in Weekuri Lagoon, a clear saltwater pool behind the reef. Mandorak and Bawana beaches are also on the schedule. The traditional villages of Ratenggaro and Waitabar show houses with tall tower roofs and giant stone tombs. Local residents gladly explain the meaning of their traditions and ikat weaving.
