2 Days 1 Night Max. 12 travelers Meeting point: Malang Kota Baru Station

About this trip

Tumpak Sewu, on the border of Lumajang and Malang, is nicknamed the Niagara of Java because its curtain of water drops from a semicircular cliff. Water pours from many crevices, so it looks like thousands of streams. The trip starts in Pronojiwo District, going down bamboo stairs and a footpath to the valley floor. There you can feel the spray and take photos on the rocky riverbank. Afterwards we follow the river to Tetes Cave, a small cave that drips water from its ceiling. A local guide checks that the current is safe before the group moves on.
