2 Days 1 Night Max. 16 travelers Meeting point: Mendolo Terminal, Wonosobo

About this trip

The Dieng Plateau in Wonosobo and Banjarnegara sits at around 2,000 metres above sea level. The air is cool, the landscape is misty, and it holds a complex of Hindu temples believed to date from the 7th to 8th century CE. The first day starts at Arjuna Temple, Telaga Warna with its colour-changing water, and Sikidang Crater with its rising steam. In the afternoon you can try mie ongklok and carica, specialities of Dieng. Early the next morning we climb Sikunir Hill for a golden sunrise with Mount Sindoro, Sumbing, and Merapi in the background. If the weather is clear, a sea of clouds stretches out below your feet.

Thick mist

The sunrise was covered by mist, but the lakes and crater were still great.
