The Minangkabau highlands hold the old town of Bukittinggi, green canyons, and a caldera lake. The trip starts in Padang and climbs to Bukittinggi.
You walk around Jam Gadang, enjoy the Sianok Canyon panorama, then descend the 44 Bends to Lake Maninjau. Lunch of Padang rice and Padang satay is part of the route.
