Kilometre Zero at the Western Tip of the Archipelago
Sabang is on Weh Island, a volcanic island at the northwestern tip of Aceh that is Indonesia's westernmost point. The Indonesia Kilometre Zero Monument stands here, and many travelers come to take photos while imagining a journey across the entire archipelago from this point.
The island is surrounded by clear sea. At Iboih and Rubiah Island, snorkelling is just minutes from the beach, with healthy coral. The black sand beach of Anoi Itam makes the island feel different from other Acehnese beaches.
Sabang was once an important port, and traces of trading history and old buildings can still be found in town. The boat ride from Banda Aceh is part of the experience itself.
In Sabang (Pulau Weh), try Mi Aceh, Sate Matang and Kopi Gayo. Food from other regions
